How to tighten a ponytail

A tight ponytail has to start with a tight elastic, but what if your hair elastic isn’t the perfect fit? We all have different thickness of hair so sometimes you are left with not enough elastic to go around a second time leaving a loose ponytail that’s not tight enough to hold. Here is a simple way to tighten the elastic band to give you a secure and tight ponytail.

step 1
Step 1

Here is the excess elastic.

step 2
Step 2

Hook a hair grip through the excess elastic and start twisting the hair grip till it becomes tight and the ponytail is feeling secure.

step 3
Step 3

Point the grip down into the middle of the ponytail and push it deep inside the pony. I have left it sticking out so you can see what to do but when you have pushed the grip in you wont see it.

Tina is a very talented hair and make up artist. We hired her services for my daughters prom in 2016 and again recently for my younger daughters prom in June 2019. My daughter was very fussy and stressed about how her hair and make up would look. Tina is a very calm and easy going person and came to do a trial several months in advance which gave my daughter some peace of mind. On the day, her make up and hair was perfect, she loved it and was awarded Prom Queen...so thank you Tina as the hair and make up were the definitely the crowning glory.
