Learn how to apply your own make-up

eye makeup
Learn the art of eye make-up with a personal one to one make-up lesson.

For many people the first and last time they’ve had their make-up done professionally was on their wedding day, as a result I get frequent enquiries from previous brides wanting to learn how to apply their own make-up themselves with many wanting to focusing on the trickier application of eye make-up. Brides have often returned after their wedding a year or two later to learn the techniques for smokey eyes, contouring, natural day make-up as well as more glamorous evening looks. Some are also interested in learning how to apply false lashes correctly or how to apply the more fiddly individual lashes for a more natural and comfortable false lash. A basic make-up lesson is usually 1 1/2 – 2 hours and covers everything you need to know to create a natural day make-up, this is then followed by quick techniques on how to strengthen this look to turn it into an evening look. There is also the option of adding on false eyelash application where you can learn how to apply and blend both the strip and individual lashes. Usually I teach this one to one session in Kingsbury or Eastcote (northwest London) but I can also travel to your home if you live in the following local areas: Ruislip, Eastcote, Pinner, Colindale, Hendon, Kingsbury, Hatch End, Stanmore, Edgware, Kenton, Harrow, Rayners Lane, Northwood, Rickmansworth, Watford, Northolt, Greenford, Hayes, Heston, Hounslow, Sudbury, Wembley, Heathrow, Southall and Uxbridge. Additional travel charges will apply to areas outside of northwest London.

Make-up lessons are also useful if you don’t want to hire a professional to do your make-up on your wedding day, or in the case of asian brides you may want to learn to apply your own make-up for some of the smaller bridal functions. If you are having your wedding abroad then doing your own make-up on the wedding day takes the stress out of finding a local make-up artist which can be difficult when you are not in the same country. Most of the make-up in my kit is MAC but you are welcome to bring your own make-up along and learn how to use what you already have so you don’t need to buy any additional products, if I think there’s anything that might be worth having then I can show you the things I like to use on my clients too.

During the lessons I usually sit you in front of a mirror and do your make-up on one side of your face showing you step by step exactly what products I am using along with application techniques. You will then recreate the look on the other side. Once this look is complete I will then show you how to strengthen the eyes for an evening/party look.  Most my clients like to learn all the basics with more attention on eye make-up but if you have any areas that you would rather focus on then I can tailor make the lesson to suit your needs eg. contouring, smokey eyes, working with colours, bridal make-up. Longer lessons are available if needed but 1 1/2 hours is generally long enough for one full face natural look followed by a quick eye make-up change. Prices start at £70 for 1 1/2 hours in northwest London or £100 for 2 hours with false lashes included. The lessons are flexible to your needs so whatever you would like to cover during this time is fine just let me know at the time of booking so I can incorporate it into the lesson.
