Step by step party make-up look

Pink eye makeup Collage
Step by step glittery pink and purple eye make-up.

With the party season fast approaching it’s time to get the glitter out! I love adding in a touch of glitter to the eye make-up when doing party make-up or bridal reception looks as it’s the perfect way to highlight the eyes when under low lighting. Glittery and shimmery eyeshadows have a beautiful dazzle when under artificial light as opposed to daylight which draws more attention to the highlighted areas withing the make-up.

Follow these simple steps to recreate this look or use the same method and just change the colours around for a different version.

step 1
Step 1

Start off by prepping the eyelid with an eye primer and powder, then dust the entire eye area with a light creamy coloured eyeshadow.

step 2
Step 2

For a vibrant look add a highly pigmented bright pink eyeshadow to the entire lid and under the eyes too.

step 3
Step 3

Sweep a lilac or purple eyeshadow into the socket line blending the edges with a soft fluff brush so there are no hard lines.

step 4
Step 4

For a more intense look add a black eyeshadow to the outer corner and a little just along the socket line to add some depth being careful not to overlap onto the purple eyeshadow. Keep the black eyeshadow soft so it blends into the purple and doesn’t create hard lines in the eye make-up, it will stay soft if you don’t apply too much and are not too heavy handed when applying the eyeshadow – build the intensity up slowly.

step 5
Step 5

Press a fine particle loose pink glitter (or one that reflects pink) on top of the pink eyeshadow, use a sponge tipped applicator for a full coverage.

step 6
step 6

To further highlight the eyes add a white eyeshadow layered with a silvery white loose glitter to the inner corners of the eyes.

Finish the look with black eyeliner, mascara and false lashes.
