Here are a brief collection of some of my Asian bridal hair and make-up images shot by and featured in Asiana magazine. I’ve been doing Asian bridal hair and make-up since ’96, I’m based in North West London (Middlesex) but travel in and around the London area. I mainly do bridal work but will do non bridal make-up and hair up styles without a bridal booking if it’s nearer to the time (I take bridal bookings in advance and non bridal bookings a few weeks/months/days before the event). My non bridal hair and make-up bookings are mainly within my local area of North West London which includes; Kingsbury, Colindale, Hendon, Edgware, Stanmore, Kenton, Harrow, Ruislip, Eastcote, Pinner, Hatch End, Wembley, Potters Bar, Greenford, Hounslow, Heston, Heathrow, Southall, Northolt, Northwood, Slough, Isleworth, Watford, Queensbury, Cannons Park, Ealing, Hayes, Uxbridge, Rayners Lane and Neasden (and anywhere close to these areas). For my bridal clients I will travel further whether it’s to the wedding venue or your home: North, West, East, South or Central London including the outskirts of London too.
My Asian bridal hair and make-up trials are done in Kingsbury, then on the day I travel to your home or venue to do your hair and make-up. I can also help you with any dressing such as dupatta/chuni setting and saree draping, it takes about 2 1/2 hours to get a bride fully ready; hair, make-up and dressing. The make-up looks I create vary as they are tailored for each individual bride, they range from natural to colourful to very dramatic and smoky with either individual or strip lashes to complement the look. My make-up style is not fixed but tends to focus on defining the eyes as that’s where people struggle to accentuate their make-up, it’s also the feature that people focus on when they look at you so it’s nice to have the eyes as the centre of attention. Working freelance within the fashion and editorial industry also keeps my hair and make-up skills versatile as I’m never doing the same look twice, it keeps me honing and perfecting my skills so they are current and up to date with the fast pace of changing trends within this industry.
Doing Asian bridal make-up has really made me more creative when it comes to working with colours, the number of outfits that I have seen over the years with the most beautiful fusion of colours has really opened my eyes to mixing and combing colours that you would never think could work together but do. Asian weddings are so colourful and the bridal outfits are so inspiring that I’ve really become fond of colourful make-up. Some brides are a little cautious when it comes to wearing colour but when they see it on they actual prefer it to the more natural earthy tones they initially wanted. The key to wearing colourful eye make-up is knowing how to highlight and shade it in the right place so it’s balanced and really works.
