What is macro beauty? Macro beauty is a photograph shot using a macro lens, these lenses allow you to capture the smallest details through magnification resulting in photographs with amazing colours and details that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. Macro lenses are commonly used to capture the fine details on tiny insects and flowers but tight beauty shots of eyes, lips and nails using a macro lens will create stunning photos emphasising the smaller textures and details that a normal lens would not be able to pick up.
Below are some examples of my own make-up where a macro lens was used to be able to capture the beauty of the tiny flowers that I used on the eyes. These images were published in The Bite Magazine which is why there is a shadow from the centre of the page running through the middle as they were all double page spreads.
Below is more of my macro beauty captured on the lips, notice how the macro lens was able to pick up the tiny particles of glitter on the first image and the natural folds and creases on the lips of the blue image along with sharp details on the tiny stones applied to the nail.
When doing a macro beauty shoot you have to be very clean and precise with your make-up as every little flaw will be emphasized which can sometimes make it quite challenging, I love doing maco beauty especially if I get the chance to be creative as the results can often take the picture from beautiful to mind blowing!
